From the time she can first remember, Suzie has had her eyes peeled, pointed downward . . . as she searches for her next discovered treasure. The thrill of the hunt for a lovely petoskey stone in Michigan, her home state, or a polished piece of sea glass on the shores of the Long Isand Sound are well worth the tedious, but rewarding discovery.

 

 In the same way, Junkin' is just another discovery waiting to happen. She finds glory in the rustic and character in each rusted piece of treasure found on her "junkin' excursions. Upcycling her "tossed and found" items is her inspiration. The fascination is seeing beauty in the fusing together of items with a previous life in a surprising and creative way.

 

 Wood~Words: Composing one of a kind, artful expressions from items cast aside.

 

 Suzie also works with beautiful broken glass, creating mosaics as a frame for beveled mirrors and other art.

 

 Shatterglass Design: Mosaic work...creating the lovely from shattered glass.

 

 "Shatterglass Design" Each sparkling piece of glass is hand cut or broken and put in place with a surgeon's care. Then the whole piece is grouted. The back and sides have been painted and there is wire and eye hooks on the back, ready for hanging.

Another treasure hunt! My Sea Glass Jewelry features upcycled and vintage jewelry pieces combined with genuine, handpicked sea glass from the shorelines of Connecticut and Rhode Island.

 

Beautiful, colored, vintage glass that may have once been a piece of a colored bottle, vase or even a schooner's lantern washed up after a shipwreck. The powerful elements of sand, tide, water & weather buffet the shard over time & terrain. It is transformed; sanded, smoothed, hydrated & finally renewed into the timeless treasure we know as Sea Glass. How far has it traveled? Whose hands have held it? How long has it been resting at sea? I think you'll find yourself dreaming with me as you enjoy these timeless treasures.
